LODGING
---
The 7D Ranch, comprised of approximately 277 acres, is set among beautiful lodge pole pines and aspens. Sunlight Creek meanders through the ranch and provides wonderful fishing and swimming holes. The 7D main lodge serves as the central hub of ranch activities. Within the lodge, one will find a crackling fire and comfortable couches on which to relax and unwind. One can choose a book from the lodge's western and nature library, or one may want to examine the many western and Native American artifacts that adorn the walls. Impromptu sing-alongs or friendly games of chess are common occurrences. Adjoining the lodge is the dining room where delicious family style meals are served three times a day. Picnic tables and well-maintained horseshoe pits are found in the green lawn in front of the main lodge. Across the lawn is the popular Rec Hall. In the Rec Hall, children and adults alike enjoy games of ping pong & board games, as well as weekly old fashioned square dances. The 7D guests reside in any of the eleven private log cabins scattered about the ranch among aspen groves. The cabins range from one to four bedrooms. Each cabin has one or more private bathrooms and a wood burning stove. All have western decor and are comfortable. Daily maid service is provided and laundry facilities are available.
RECREATION
---
The 7D Ranch is surrounded by National Forest. Hence, the country we ride and hike in is immeasurable in its beauty and scope. A variety of rides are offer each day and throughout the week. We offer half-day rides, all-day excursions, a brunch ride, faster rides, kid's only rides and overnight trips. We match each rider with a horse from our herd of 65+ horses for the week. With the help of our fly fishing guide, our guests find ample trout fishing waters. When guests are not fishing, riding, hiking or trapshooting they can be found relaxing reading a book or taking a nap. Often guests head to nearby Cody for the rodeo or a day at the world class Buffalo Bill Historical Center. In the evening, we have a variety of activities to partake in. Guests joining in with our staff for Outdoor sports night which might be Wiffle Ball or Volleyball. Another evening we have a singer or squaredance call visit. Campfires are also popular with staff entertaining with stories and s'mores! Our Wicki-Up is the highlight of the week for many. This is an Indian Sweat Lodge that ends with a jump in the Sunlight River or Creek! We also offer customized pack trips from 2-10 days. Please call for additional details. One trip option is the Nez Perce Trail and is very popular.
FOR CHILDREN
---
Specialized children's program is one of the big reasons we have such a high return rate amongst our families. We pride ourselves for offering activities for all ages and bringing families together. Should parents want to go off on their own, we care for the children's needs during the day (9:00 am - 5:00 PM). Two full time children's counselors and babysitting available. Our children's program is geared for kids 3-12 years old and offers several theme days throughout the week. We focus on Cowboy Day, Water Day, Nature Day and Indian Day. The ranch is located in the escape route of the Nez Perce Indians when they were fleeing the military in 1877. Children explore Indian caves near the ranch during Indian Day!
FOOD/LIQUOR
---
Meals are served in the historic Main Lodge, or at picnic tables, a short stroll across the lawn. The delicious home-cooked cuisine features freshly-baked breads, crisp salad greens from the kitchen garden, 7D Ranch beef from our small Black Angus herd, and of course, scrumptious desserts. (Kitchen staff is pleased to accommodate special dietary requirements.) A hearty cowboy breakfast, served on the trail, is always a memorable experience. BYOB.

HISTORY/HOSTS
---
One of the oldest dude ranches in Wyoming, the 7D Ranch began as “The Dewey Riddle Ranch,” a guest ranch homesteaded by Dewey and Elsie Riddle. When the Dominick family of seven acquired it in the fifties, they opened it as a haven for family and friends from the East, renamed it the 7D, and have run it as a family operation ever since. From the Molesworth furniture in the Main Lodge, to the logs of the old cabins, the ranch helps us unite with the past. And while much of the old West is quickly evolving, the 7D Ranch holds fast to its roots and offers guests a slice of the West as it was. Join hosts, Chuck, Kerry, Ethan and Eli Gunther for a western getaway that your family will never forget. Chuck and Kerry were both guests at ranches as children. Let the Gunther family and the staff help you and your family discover what dude ranches are all about!
