LODGING
---
Our cabins, which are nestled in the pines are large but cozy with fireplaces, queen sized beds (and bunkbeds), coffee maker, full bath/shower, reading chairs, magazines and books, snacks, table/chairs, covered porches, and a cookie jar filled with homemade goodies. Our cabins are comfortably furnished in a Native American style or a Cowboy motif, and you will have a cabin to yourself - we never mix groups.
RECREATION
---
Whether our visitors come to ride or hike, they have truly memorable experiences. We have gentle horses suitable for riders of all abilities. In open meadows, among the Ponderosa or juniper forests, or along streams and rivers in narrow canyons, the scenery is spectacular. The weather here in the Black Range Mountains is just about the best we have ever experienced, anywhere in the world. Summertime temperatures normally range from the 40s in the evening, to the 80s during the day, with very low humidity. Skies are normally a brilliant, deep turquoise blue, cloudless in the morning, with puffy white clouds in the afternoon. Numerous Native American sites are nearby, including kivas, cliff dwellings, petroglyphs and pictographs. These sites are protected by state and federal law, and remain untouched. Your stay will be undisturbed and untroubled. We are 50 miles from the nearest town, 85 miles from the nearest stoplight, and cell phones don’t work in these mountains. While there are very few human residents, there are large herds of elk, as well as bear, mountain lions, Mexican Grey wolves, and bald eagles here. The quiet is such that you hear the approach of a bird of prey by the beat of the wind beneath its wings.
FOR CHILDREN
---
Our program, both for adults and children, follows no rigid agenda; leave your schedules and meeting times behind. Children and their parents rediscover structured and unstructured play at the ranch. In addition to competing in traditional indoor and outdoor games, our younger guests (and sometimes their parents) participate in rodeo-type games on horseback, treasure hunts, and poker rides. Our horses enjoy the daily attention provided by grooming and feeding, and while Nacho and Taco, our three miniature paint horses, don’t take many riders, they are just the right size for a seven-year old to curry and take for a walk.
FOOD/LIQUOR
---
Meals are normally taken in the dining hall, on one large table with seating for 16, at a number of tables set among the Ponderosas, or - particularly for s'mores - around the campfire. We eat family style, and our meals include traditional ranch breakfasts, southwestern specialties, grilled steaks, chicken and salmon, and desserts ranging from crepes to Cherries Jubilee. Special dietary requirements can be easily and tastefully accommodated.
BUSINESS/MEETINGS
---
If your group is searching for a true “offsite,” Geronimo Trail is certainly the place for undisturbed review, reflection, and revision of organizational plans and strategy. While we do not normally trouble our guests with electronic intrusions, the ranch does have land-line and satellite phone service, e-mail and fax capability, as well as satellite television. Our dining hall can accommodate a group of 15 comfortably, and outdoor meetings areas can be easily arranged as well.

REGION/CUSTOMS
---
The culture of southwestern New Mexico is derived from the peoples who have lived here, both past and present. Hundreds of years ago, these mountains were home to the Mogollon and Mimbres tribes, whose dwellings and artifacts remain to this day. In the 1800s, and as you might expect, this country belonged to the cowboys and Indians. New Mexico is the land of Billy the Kid, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Judge Roy Bean, as well as their Native American counterparts - Apache leaders Geronimo, Victorio, Lozen, and Mangas Coloradas. The Native American legacy is well preserved and presented at The Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument 15 miles southwest of the ranch (but three hours by road). 80 miles to the north, and clearly in the 21st century, is the Very Large Array radio telescope complex. 100 miles to the southeast is White Sands National Monument. Other comparatively nearby areas of interest include Petroglyph National Monument in Albuquerque, Silver City, El Paso and its companion city in Mexico, Juarez, and the ghost towns of Winston and Chloride.
ITINERARY
---
Guest normally fly into either Albuquerque or El Paso, each of which is 200 miles and four hours by car from the ranch by good roads. Specific directions are provided by our website, www.geronimoranch.com, or in our brochure. Come and join us, and create a lifetime memory for your family and friends.
