LODGING
Three guest rooms in the Ranch House. The West Room has a private entrance, kitchenette, queen bed, trundle bed and private bath. The Rodeo Room has two single beds; the Wilderness Room has a queen bed. The Rodeo and Wilderness rooms share a bath and a separate vanity area. Each room has unique western charm and wonderful views.

RECREATION
You can join the cowboys as they check the cattle, go on cattle round-ups, doctor livestock, brand calves, buck hay, or mend fence. Participate in another integral part of the Old West by sheering sheep or herding sheep in the mountains. There are full or half-day trail rides through the beautiful Caribou National Forrest. You may spot bald eagles, moose, elk, deer, fox, coyotes, mountain lions, wild turkeys, geese, and sandhill cranes. If you come early in the summer you can bottle-feed lambs or calves. Seasonal events include a thirty-mile cattle drive every fall and our spring round-up/brandings.
Enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery while riding horses, hiking, fishing in Bob Smith Creek, or floating down the Portneuf River. The famous Lava Hot Springs are just a short 5-minute drive away and feature natural hot springs as well as an Olympic-sized swimming pool with diving platforms and water slides. There is also a private hot tub on the ranch.
After a full-day of work and fun, enjoy sharing stories of the old West around the campfire.

FOR CHILDREN
Children will love bottle-feeding the lambs and calves, feeding the chickens and collecting eggs. We offer lessons for typical ranch activities such as horseback riding and roping. For those just wanting to sit back and relax, your kids will enjoy playing with the baby animals, not to mention pony rides, the playground and many other fun activities. The Andrus family’s most recent generation of 8 children will tell you it is a great place for kids! Baby sitting is available.

FOOD/LIQUOR
Enjoy great home cooking served family style. Meals include fresh veggies from the garden, home-raised beef, lamb and chicken, home-baked desserts, bread made from our own wheat crop, and mom’s bottled fruit and jams. And don’t miss out on the chokecherry or elderberry syrup on your hot cakes! Alcohol is not served but is available in town.

REGION/CUSTOMS
The Andrus Family runs Angus cattle and Suffolk sheep -- providing the complete Western ranch experience. Join us for the Spring Round-Up and Branding, or come in November for a three-day cattle round-up.

The ranch is five minutes from Lava Hot Springs -- a small historic town boasting world-famous natural mineral springs claimed to have healing powers by the Native Americans. Enjoy day trips to Yellowstone National Park, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, or Salt Lake City.

HISTORY/HOSTS
The Andrus Family has run the ranch for three generations. The ranch was once part of the Fort Hall Indian Reservation belonging to the Shoshone and Bannock tribes, and was first used for ranching at the turn of the century by an American Indian who took on the name of Bob Smith. The creak running through the ranch still bears his name. The ranch's 1,500 acres now border the Caribou National Forest.
