LODGING
Restored ranch bunkhouse. Each of the four rooms has an outside entrance and is furnished with native lodge pole furniture. Two of the rooms have queen-sized beds and the other rooms have two double beds.

RECREATION
Horseback riding, calving, branding, mending fences, moving cattle to different pastures, doctoring and salting the cattle and trout fishing. Nature hikes are available, where you might expect to see a variety of wildlife such as moose, elk and deer.

FOR CHILDREN
We do not have a children's program and we do not encourage children under 12.

FOOD/LIQUOR
All meals are eaten at the ranch cookhouse (which is next door to the bunkhouse). Meals are served family style and consist of lots of homemade goodies. We also have Dutch oven meals and steak frys. No one leaves hungry. The cookhouse is left open 24 hours a day in case anyone gets hungry before breakfast. Liquor is not served at the ranch but guests may bring their own liquor/beer.

REGION/CUSTOMS
The Bar H Bar is located in Southeastern Idaho. We are about two hours from Jackson Wy and 3 hour From SaltLake.
Our bunkhouse has nicely decorated rooms,& clean bathrooms. Each room has an outside entrance. We limit our guest to six in order to give everyone a fun hands on experience. We are open from May until Oct.

HISTORY/HOSTS
The Bar H bar Ranch has a great history. It was one of the first ranches in Southern Idaho. It was homesteaded by the Mormon church in about 1850. The ruts of the old Oregon Trail can still be seen along the Bear River that runs through the ranch. Our family has been ranching in this area for 5 generation.

ITINERARY
We do not follow a schedual but you can expect to participate in all ranch activities.

May and June we are ususally mending fences and moving cattle to summer pature. Some branding

July and Aug we are continually riding through the cattle to check for sickness and make sure the feed is good. Sometimes we ship cattle in Aug.

Sept is the time we gather the cattle, do the preg testing, vacinate and ship cattle to the market.
