After years of inquiries for the opportunity to ride and work with real cowboys on a genuine cattle ranch, Cherokee Park Ranch is offering you the experience of a lifetime. The ranch that neighbors us to the west is a working cattle ranch. Running a herd of over 300 crossbred mother cows, the operation has been in the same family for 45 years. We are offering a unique challenge to a limited number of experienced riders, as each round-up is limited to the first 10 reservations. For a full week this fall, you can live a lifestyle that is quickly vanishing from the West. Experience the day-to-day routine of working on a Colorado mountain ranch. Spend a week in the saddle gathering cattle, checking cows and calves, vaccinating, 'doctoring'... and all the elements of an authentic round-up. This is not your usual guest ranch vacation. Every day you will actually BE a true ranch hand, working right alongside the regular cowboys. Expect long days in the saddle, stubborn mother cows that won't go where you want them to, and probably a few uncooperative bulls. Most of the week will be spent on horseback moving the herd, giving you the chance to put away your coat and tie and wear out a new pair of jeans.
