Children

The Chico Basin Ranch is family-oriented and welcomes children to participate in all activities. The ranch is an ideal place to spend time as a family and create lasting memories, as we do with our own families. The Ranch provides unique opportunities for children to learn about and experience ranching and the natural world as few kids are able to do.

We can arrange special activities for children so that parents may have some time to themselves as well. Some examples of special activities are nature hikes, fishing classes, leather-working, and canoeing. The ranch hosts a variety of youth groups for visits from one day up to 10 days. Past groups have included Girl Scouts, Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory's, Fountain Valley School's Spring Interim, and the Colorado Historical Society's Summer History Camp.
