For a small additional charge we provide overnight horseback pack trips into Yellowstone National Park and the Lee Metcalf Wildnerness Area. River tubing, horseshoes, evenings around the campfire are also popular, and just a lot of fun "horsing around!"

REGION/CUSTOMS
We are an authentic western dude ranch founded in 1925 and have operated as such ever since that time. We have maintained the historic character of the ranch and take great pride in the small, family atmosphere offered. We limit our capacity to 25 to maintain the personal attention and flexible schedules of our guests. Located on the edge of Yellowstone National Park and the Lee Metcalf Wildnerness area, our trail rides venture easily into spectacular backcountry. We operate our ranch from June 1 through September 21 of each year.

HISTORY/HOSTS
Covered Wagon Ranch started hosting guests over 80 years ago by traveling via covered wagon from the town of Bozeman. Today, descendants of some of those first families still stay at the ranch to experience the mystic beauty of the Old West and the Rocky Mountains. Your hosts, Debi and J.T., and your managers, Jeremy and Darlene Young, have carried the tradition on from our founder, Vic Benson, so that guests can still enjoy the fun and flavor of the true Montana Old West. Jeremy and Darlene are the "real cowboys", both born and raised on Montana ranches, starting colts and teaching people how to ride and/or advance their skills.

ITINERARY
Covered Wagon Ranch gives the reins over to the guests to lead their own trail in the mountains. We pride ourselves on the fact that we offer the flexibility to plan your vacation to your time schedule. We keep our groups small in an effort to give you the personal attention you deserve. Our staff is here to guide, organize and direct your recreation according to your needs. Structure is suggested, but not mandatory.
