Hacienda La Alegria nestles amidst lush surroundings in the typical fertile farmland of the Ecuadorian inter-Andean plain. The house, Franco-Italian style built in 1911, has conserved its homely, original features and beautiful gardens. The 4 spacious bedrooms in the main house with 2 beds with private or shared bathroom are very comfortable. Also, there are 2 family bedrooms (with loft), 2 beds on main floor and 2 beds on the loft, private bathroom, and fireplace. Four more bedrooms with private bathrooms to be ready for summer 2009. Also has spacious and cozy dinning rooms (2) and living rooms (2). Sheets, towels and cleaning service provided.

Activities

Amazing horseback riding adventures, hiking to the cloud forest, Chagra (Ecuador Andes cowboys) culture and skills demonstration, be part of daily farm activities such as milking, feeding and taking cattle to the pastures. Also, we are near local indigenous markets and downtown Quito. Majestic volcanoes such as the Cotopaxi.

Children

La Alegria is great place for families with children. Our flexible riding program tailors all level riders. The kids enjoy riding and helping with the hacienda's chores, excellent opportunity to expose your children to nature and other culture.

Dining

International cuisine, delicious Ecuadorian meals. Hearty and wholesome meals and great lunches or snacks for the rides. You can always enjoy your dinners with a nice glass of wine. Vegetarian meals upon request.
