Lodging
Our comfortable charming cozy cabins have decks and chairs just right for relaxing with a good book, daydreaming or visiting with new friends. Each has a gas fireplace, decks on the river, small refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryers and most have washers & dryers. The peaceful sound of the Little Laramie River flowing just outside the cabins is a perfect nighttime lullaby.
Activities
Summer: Horseback riding on a variety of terrain for all ages and levels, weekly Deerwood Ranch campout, summer cattle drives with overnight, fly and spin fishing on the Little Laramie River (bring your own gear), guided hiking into the Snowies, hayrides, tubin' on the river, and year round hot tub. Winter: Nearby snowmobiling, downhill skiing, and cross country skiing. Trap shooting with ranch furnished equipment.
Children
The Vee Bar is a great place to vacation with children. The terrain is gentle and safe with plenty of room to run and play. For children under six, child care providers will be available with notice. Children six and over are eligible for the horseback riding activities with parents or other children. River tubing, fishing, hiking across a glacier, camping out in teepee's, playing games, roasting marshmallows, or relaxing in the hot tub are popular activities to all age-appropriate children. The older children can learn to rope, swing dance, trap shoot, fly fish and work on their horsemanship skills by competing in the gymkhana or moving cattle. Children may join their parents for meals or eat with their new found friends.
Dining
The Vee Bar Ranch prides itself in being one of the best fine dining destinations in the Laramie area. During the winter months we operate as a bed and breakfast and conference/retreat facility. The dining room is open to the public by reservation.
The summer months are set aside to cater exclusively to our guest ranch guests. Our cooks prepare fresh, homemade cuisine. We offer "comfort foods," such as Chicken Florentine, Beef Roulade, Baked Trout, Chicken Fried Steak, Lasagna, Turkey dinner, Barbeque Beef, Brown Sugar Glazed Salmon--just to name a few. Upon arriving at the ranch you may smell the aroma of our freshly baked whole wheat sunflower seed bread, or perhaps a batch of cookies being baked for our "never ending" cookie jar. Don't forget the desserts--something new and different each meal. We have family dining in our beautiful lodge dining room.
A campfire dinner is cooked in our scenic mountain meadow on Thursday nights and campfire breakfast is served Friday morning. There is nothing quite like sipping a cup of campfire coffee that has been brewed over the open fire on a crisp, summer morning in the mountains.
Our wines consist of Lindemans Bin 45 through Stag's Leap for the Cabernets--just to name a few. The Chardonnays range from Lindemans Bin 65 through Chalk Hill. (We also offer a wide range of mixed drinks and beer in our John Wayne Saloon).
The Vee Bar takes you back in time to "grandma's kitchen" (the cleanest kitchen in the west). Our food is great and wine is plentiful! Come and enjoy our true western hospitality.
