The essential guide to dude, guest, and working cattle ranches worldwide.
South Cariboo, British Columbia Canada
Siwash is a luxury dude ranch and remote wilderness resort—an exclusive, intimate hideaway where horses, nature, and eco-adventure entwine in the wilds. Families and couples explore the Canadian west on horseback, immersed in the cowboy culture of BC’s Cariboo region, while enjoying life-enriching moments in a wilderness paradise. This authentic working ranch has 80,000 acres of guiding territory encompassing mountain bluffs, river canyons, old growth forests and wildflower meadows—prime habitat for a myriad of wildlife.
Siwash Lakes horse program is unparalleled throughout North America and beyond. Beginner and advanced riders are matched up with our gentle horses, hand-picked to suit the unique attributes of each guest. Natural western horsemanship is taught and guests have a personal riding guide. Those with desire and proven ability have the freedom to ride unescorted. Besides riding, the Siwash signature experience offers on-site fly-fishing, canoeing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, nature walks, wildlife viewing, wilderness skills, rodeo, and skeet shooting. A pioneer-style spa features relaxation massage with healing treatments under canvas.
Accommodations overlook a secluded wilderness lake, surrounded by grassy meadows ringed with Aspen and Pine forests. Honey-hued log walls embrace a great room with river-rock fireplace, a library, and fine dining room where only organic, ranch-grown and locally produced food is prepared fresh and with love each day. Suites feature heavenly beds dressed with the softest linens, private baths, balconies and exquisite views. A private enclave, the Ridge at Siwash, features ultra-luxurious, safari tents with expansive sun decks and exquisite views of the lake and surrounding wilderness.
