LODGING
---
El Rancho Pinoso is a "Rembrandt" in disguise, located in the magnificent Blanco Basin looking out to the Sq. Top Mountain Range at the edge of San Juan National Forest. Just imagine the privacy of a 900-acre working cattle ranch, all to yourself for a few days, a week or an entire month. Our cattle and horses graze happily around our cabins, which have wonderful porches for you to enjoy and soak up the clean mountain air. The Log Cabin is a historic 2-story log cabin with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and sleeps seven. The cabin offers the convenience of a full kitchen, living room with fireplace, washer & dryer, and telephone & internet access. The Cowboy House, also recently updated, offers similar features as the Log Cabin (full kitchen, working fireplace in living room, washer & dryer, and telephone & internet access)television and DVD player, two baths and four bedrooms that can sleep a total of eight. El Rancho Pinoso is the perfect location for families to enjoy the simple pleasures of just being together, or a great place for the avid fly fishermen to get away from the hectic pace of the city.
RECREATION
---
The ranch is surrounded by soaring peaks, the gently rolling basin that embraces El Rancho Pinoso forms an enclave of serenity, beauty, and privacy. We offer horseback riding around the ranch any time of the day, generally for 1/2 day rides. You will enjoy private fly fishing with our guide on the Rio Blanco River, a first-class trout stream that offers a wealth of deep pools and shallow riffles - ideal for catching large and colorful Browns, Brokies and Rainbows, all within a short walk of both cabins. We ask our guests to bring your own fishing gear but if you don't own any we have a few rods available. There are vast outdoor possibilities with campfires along the river, watching the setting sun while throwing a line into our ponds or hiking the numerous mountain trails located nearby, including Fish Creek and Leche Creek trails. You can also take advantage of our stables and pasture by bringing your own horse and exploring this historic and beautiful area as only a select few have.
FOR CHILDREN
---
The ranch is designed for families. We encourage parents with kids to interact together whether its fishing, horseback riding, or hiking together. We have games, horseshoe pits, ponds, stream and all the space a child could wish for to run and be a kid.
FOOD/LIQUOR
---
Most of our guests appreciate the ability to cook in their own cabins. If you prefer, if given enough notice, we can arrange for a chef to come in to prepare meals for you. Our kitchens are newly renovated are fully stocked and if you will send us your grocery list in advance we will do the shopping and stock your kitchen for your arrival. If you prefer to do your own shopping there is a large City Market store in Pagosa Springs.
BUSINESS/MEETINGS
---
The ranch is ideal for small groups that enjoy being together whether families, friends or Board Members that want to come and plan for the future of their companies.
REGION/CUSTOMS
---
Nearby to the south in New Mexico, is the historic Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad that embarks from Chama; the charming town of Taos with the still-inhabited, thousand-year-old Taos Pueblo, and Santa Fe, with its long Spanish Heritage, its famed adobe architecture, and incredible array of art galleries. To the north is Pagosa Springs, gateway to the alpine splendors of the San Juan Mountains and the Weminuche Wilderness, and home to the famous hot springs and spa. To the West is Durango, a truly authentic Western town, with the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, galleries and museums, and stellar restaurants. Durango also provides access to Mesa Verde National Park - one of the world's great cultural treasures - and the San Juan Skyway, a 235-mile scenic loop through mining towns, ski resorts, and staggering mountain splendor.
HISTORY/HOSTS
---
The El Rancho Pinoso was purchased by the Lindner Family in 1986 and a was completely private until 2006. The Family hopes that their guests will enjoy this masterpiece as their family has throughout the years. It is a vision of conservation and nature at it's best.
