HISTORY/HOSTS
La Bamba is a landmark vacation destination, another of the famed San Antonio de Areco estancias. It was built nearly 200 years ago as a posthouse on the Camino Real (royal road) leading from Buenos Aires to northern Argentina, and because of its dramatic outlook and lush setting served more than once as the shooting location for passionately romantic films. It has since been declared a “place of historical importance” by the Municipality of San Antonio de Areco, a town absorbed in the gaucho tradition.
