LODGING
---
Settle down in elegantly appointed ranch cabins that are listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Lovingly renovated in the last few years, they are equipped with sitting porches, rustic plush furnishings, full bathrooms, wood stoves and electric power from our solar system. Amble over the creek to our historic log cabin Lodge. Lounge on the front porch overlooking our lake, where fish rise at the hatch and moose often loll. Step inside for a dinner you won't forget. Then sink back in leather sofas around the hand-crafted stone fireplace or the antique piano carried up to the ranch on an oxcart in the 1920s.
RECREATION
---
Come to fly-fish, to hike, to ride and then simmer in the sauna. Or settle on a sun-bathed porch with a sketchpad or favorite book. Come to meet an array of wildlife from our resident bald eagles to visiting moose and whitetail deer, scores of ducks and the solitary great blue heron. You won't cross paths with other fly-fishers in the waters of our private lake and acclaimed trout stream. We include a free trail ride into the Gros Ventre National Wilderness Area for those staying a minimum of four days. Many guests choose to split their Jackson Hole vacations, spending three or four nights with us and the rest of their time elsewhere. You can make our ranch a jumping-off point for challenging pack trips or hiking expeditions. Or you can move on to lodgings in the valley, where you can enjoy side trips to Yellowstone, hiking in Grand Teton National Park, an array of restaurants and shops, ballooning, raft trips and the Grand Teton Music Festival. We are glad to recommend some of our favorite spots.
FOR CHILDREN
---
No supervised children's programs. But your children are welcome to come and explore this treasure of unspoiled nature! Activites include wilderness hikes with a naturalist, frisbee, horseshoes, Ping-Pong. We have "loaner" fishing equipment for children 11 and older. For safety reasons, we limit trail rides to children 11 and older.
FOOD/LIQUOR
---
Feast on our ranch gourmet cuisine tinged with international flavors -- grilled meat and fish, homemade bread and desserts, a healthy infusion of creative salads and crisp vegetables. A selection of our favorite California, French and Italian wines is complimentary with dinner, as is beer. Otherwise BYOB.
BUSINESS/MEETINGS
---
The ranch is ideal for executive brainstorming sessions or small retreats. Stay in touch via our cellular phones or by our email. The main meeting room is the 18 x 32 foot lodge living room, which can be set up for lectures or discussions. The isolation of the ranch also provides an optimal setting for yoga or meditation groups.

REGION/CUSTOMS
---
Jackson Hole is magic. From kid campers to luminaries of People Magazine, visitors find a fresh take on life in the magnificent Tetons and surrounding parklands of pristine forest. Whether you're an outdoors athlete welded to a mountain bike or a relaxed woodland ambler, Jackson Hole has your terrain. It also has grown a wide assortment of superior restaurants, day spas, boutiques and fine clothing stores. Enjoying the outdoors while preserving our natural bounty is a community core value of Jackson Hole that we at Flat Creek Ranch champion. As an "in-holding" in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, we follow principles of eco-tourism and insist on causing the lowest possible impact on the virgin forest surrounding us.
HISTORY/HOSTS
---
Built by a countess and a cowboy in the 1920s, the Flat Creek Ranch is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The ranch's romantic history has been celebrated in the musical comedy "Pettycoat Rules." The countess Cissy Patterson was the great-aunt of Joe Albright, who with his wife Marcia Kunstel own the ranch. Joe and Marcia decided in 1998 that this jewel cloaked in wilderness, which had fallen into disrepair over the years, should be refurbished and shared with others. After careers in journalism, including nearly 20 years as foreign correspondents in the Middle East, Africa, Russia and China, they sank roots in Jackson Hole and took on the challenge of renovating the ranch. Now they are on the scene as the ranch hosts.
