Take a step back in time and experience the cowboy way of life at our old time Cow Camp in the scenic Wet Mountains of Southern Colorado.
Three night packages include: lodging in a rustic log cabin, meals prepared over the open fire, and horseback riding through open pastures, streams, lush meadows and heavily wooded areas. Guests will help with the daily chores of a cow camp including: checking and/or moving cattle, building and fixing fences, tending to the horses, helping with the cooking, and gathering wood for fires. There is a gold mine on the property that was active in the 1800's. There are several safe tunnels inside and it is pretty exciting to explore. You might really enjoy panning for gold in the stream below, or just taking a look inside. Guests will need to bring their own sleeping bags, warm clothes, washcloths and bath towels, as well as personal items. The camp is equipped with a solar shower and chemical toilet. There is a lot of peace and quiet, but there is NO electricity, NO telephones, NO TV, and NO traffic (except for lots of local wildlife including deer, bear, antelope, elk and an occasional mountain lion). Packages will be offered Sunday through Wednesday only, beginning June 10 with the final Cow Camp beginning September 23th, 2001. There is an eight guest maximum, and no children under ten years old. The price is $675.00 per person for the three nights and four days, including tax and service charge. Please inform us of any dietary needs ahead of time.
