REGION/CUSTOMS
---
Kay El Bar Ranch is an authentic western dude ranch in the foothills of Arizona's Bradshaw Mountains. An hour from Phoenix and four hours south of the Grand Canyon, our dude ranch has welcomed guests since 1926. The informal, relaxed atmosphere and small size creates a warm and intimate environment where guests quickly become part of the family. Twenty-four guest capacity. Open for all major holidays, including, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Easter.
HISTORY/HOSTS
---
The Kay El Bar began as a working cattle ranch with the brand registered in 1910. It is as old as any dude ranch in Arizona. The current owners, Joe & Teri Beattie bought the ranch in 2007 after 5 years as returning guests with a keen interest in the preservation of the ranches history. Dee Steed manages the day to day business of the ranch. The Beatties continue a line of owners who view themselves as steward and are dedicated to the natural and historical preservation of the ranch. The ranch is listed on the National and Arizona Registers of Historic Places.
