LODGING
A clear mountain stream runs through the middle of the Ranch, which sits in a small valley at the base of the mountains near Big Sky Ski and Summer Resort. Twenty three charming log cabins are nestled among towering lodgepole pines. All have porches for sitting, relaxing and enjoying the peaceful quiet and surrounding mountain scenery. All accommodations have tub/shower combinations and a woodstove or fireplace. Western artifacts, hickory and log furnishings, vintage cowboy prints and cozy patchwork quilts give each cabin a unique charm. Douglas Fir House is a great choice for families and groups, with a beautiful view of the Ranch and Lone Mountain. This three bedroom house has a living room, kitchen, loft , two bathrooms and large back deck. The luxurious Ridgetop Lodge sits on a ridge just above the Ranch. Each of the 6 private guest rooms has a deck , fantastic mountain views, private bath and can accommodate up to 3 guests. With its Great Room ( large living room with wet bar , rock fireplace and massive windows), hot tub, huge deck and recreation room with pool table, this distinctive log lodge is perfect for groups, families, conferences and individuals who prefer western elegance in a lodge setting. The Dining Lodge in the center of the Ranch is where guests gather for meals. Part of the Ranch's historic collection of 19th century Native American artifacts adorns the walls. With its huge elk antler chandeliers, massive stone fireplace and cozy Horsefly Saloon, this beautiful smoke-free lodge is a favorite gathering place for guests. The B-K guest lounge was the original Ranch dining room, and now serves as a relaxing place for guests to meet for special functions, sit by the fire and read, play games and enjoy evening programs.
The Ranch provides a warm, relaxed western armosphere, with just the right creature comforts to help guests " get away from it all" in their special Ranch home. This magical environment brings guests back year after year.

RECREATION
Located just 18miles from the northwest corner of Yellowstone Park in southwestern Montana, the Ranch is the perfect place to enjoy the many recreational activities available in this special part of the world, both on and off ranch. Summer guests take half day and all day rides in the mountains surrounding the Ranch and all day rides exploring the spectacular backcountry of Yellowstone. The Ranch's extensive naturalist program offers hikes, wildflower walks, guided trips into Yellowstone, a self-guided Nature Trail on the Ranch, birding, mountain biking and canoeing. Winner of the 2002 ORVIS ENDORSED FLY FISHING LODGE of the YEAR award the Ranch is located in the midst of more blue ribbon trout streams than anywhere in the country. Fishers experience the Gallatin, Madison and Yellowstone rivers as well as the many streams of Yellowstone Park, with our award winning guides. Walk/wade and drift boat trips are very popular. Whitewater rafting, golf and tennis are available nearby.
During the winter months, the Ranch turns into a magical winter wonderland, with 80km of immaculately groomed cross country ski trails, packed snowshoe trails and world class downhill skiing at nearby Big Sky Ski Resort and Moonlight Basin, accessed via a free shuttle. The Ranch was recently named #1 NORDIC SKI RESORT in North America by a Cross Country Skier Magazine reader poll! Guided backcountry ski tours give guests the chance to view Yellowstone's backcountry in its winter splendour as they ski past Geyser Basins and view abundant wildlife.
PSIA certified ski instuction, top quality rentals and all the gear guests need are available in the Outdoor Shop.
And don't forget, the Ranch encourages guests to just sit back and relax on their porch, read a book by a fireplace , or listen to the rustling of leaves in the fall. Do as little or as much as you'd like. It's up to you!

FOR CHILDREN
The Ranch is a very special place for families with children. Our Summer Outdoor Youth Adventures Program (for youth ages 4-18) operates from mid-June until late August. For many years, Ranch kids have been having fun while learning to appreciate nature and develop more self confidence through recreation and activities. Children's activities start at age 4 and are planned to suit the abilities and interests of various age levels. Activities such as horseback or pony rides ( age dependant), nature discovery hikes, animal tracking, leather craft, horseshoe pitching, and challenges on the climbing wall and confidence course keep kids wanting to come back for more. Plus, they have just plain fun playing games at the Ranch with newfound friends. Teens have special activities, including more adventurous hikes, river floats, overnight campouts and various off-Ranch options.
During the Winter months, our Outdoor Youth Adventures Program ( for youth ages 4-18) provides kids with fun activities in the snow. Children enjoy cross country ski lessons and tours, snowshoeing, ice cave building, snow obstacle courses, sledding and many more on-the-snow adventures.

FOOD/LIQUOR

It's a relaxed, informal setting where folks can pull up a chair at a table of other guests or share a meal with crew members, enjoying both good food and good conversation. Prepared with the freshest ingredients, meals include locally raised Big Sky Natural Beef, lamb, pork, game, as well as seafood flown in from various coasts daily and creative vegetarian specials.
