REGION/CUSTOMS
---
The Medicine Bow Lodge And Guest Ranch is located at approximately 8200 feet in the isolated Snowy Range of the Rocky Mountains. The closest town is Saratoga, Wyoming which is about 22 miles to the west. The land on which the Guest Ranch sits is located in the Medicine Bow National Forest.
HISTORY/HOSTS
---
The origins of Medicine Bow Lodge go back to the 1900's when Mr. Plummer operated with tents, built on wood foundations. He and his wife Jessie fulfilled a dream by offering a place for doctors and executives from the crowded East "to get away from the big cities." They wanted people from the east to "experience the primitive life and great beauty of this part of Wyoming." Old mining and logging towns can be seen on horseback rides within just a few miles of the Lodge. Hundred's of lakes, ponds, and streams fill the valleys. There are breath taking views that pictures just can't capture on film and represent the majestic scenery and history of the area. We have worked hard to establish a place where family and friends can vacation while enjoying each other in a lodge setting. We have a lot to offer our guests with the help of our family and staff.
ITINERARY
---
Daily horse back rides Wagon rides usually on Monday Night Tuesday, we have a cookout and dance night for the young and young at heart. Wednesdays you may choose to go on the overnight camp trip. Thursday we have evening entertainment. Saturdays, we offer a sunset ride after supper.
