RECREATION
Summer Activities:
Tim and Debbie Bishop invite you to come and stay with them a Medicine Bow Lodge. Ride horses as much as you want, hike fish or sit by the creek and read. Come on our overnight camp trip, take a ride in our wagon or beat your best friend in a game of horse shoes. Go for a visit to the quaint western town of Saratoga, 25 miles away or let us arrange a guided float trip or fishing trip on the North Platte River. You may decide to go birding or look for Moose.
Winter Actives:
The snowmobiling is the main attraction here in the winter. You can bring your own or rent. We have cross county skis and snow shoes for our guest to use. If conditions are right we can do a slay ride for you.
Steamboat is less than two hours away if you like downhill skiing, or you can sled over to the Snowy Range ski slope and ski there. "If it is fun in the snow then it is here."
And when you are cold and tired we will be here for you with coffee, tea and other refreshments available for you at your convenience.
Another activity that we have to offer our guest is a sleigh ride. This has become a favorite for families and couples especially. Additionaly this is available on request if snow conditions are favorable, and the mules cooperate.

FOR CHILDREN
Our Kid's program is tailored to meet our guest needs. Children age 6 and up may ride horses. They have the option to ride with family or with kid's wrangler. They will also be able to enjoy hiking, fishing, crafts, picnics, campfires and games. You can also arrange a back yard camp out. Infant babysitting can be prearranged for your convenience.
Your children will be well taken care of by our experienced staff.

FOOD/LIQUOR
Our guest rave about our yummy food. We serve fresh salads, homemade bread and soups, delicious en trees, and decadent desserts. Your taste buds will be satisfied. We can also meet dietary needs upon request. Sacks lunches can be prepared for you on days that you decide to go on a fishing and/or hiking adventure.
There are always snacks and beverages available in the dining room. You may bring your favorite wine or liquor into the lodge after 4:00PM.

BUSINESS/MEETINGS
This is a great place to have a small conference or business meeting. You and your clients or group will be able to accomplish your goals without interruptions. We have access to internet and wireless.
This is a spectacular mountain setting for workshops, such as art, pottery, and photography.

REGION/CUSTOMS
The Medicine Bow Lodge And Guest Ranch is located at approximately 8200 feet in the isolated Snowy Range of the Rocky Mountains. The closest town is Saratoga, Wyoming which is about 22 miles to the west. The land on which the Guest Ranch sits is located in the Medicine Bow National Forest.

HISTORY/HOSTS
The origins of Medicine Bow Lodge go back to the 1900's when Mr. Plummer operated with tents, built on wood foundations. He and his wife Jessie fulfilled a dream by offering a place for doctors and executives from the crowded East "to get away from the big cities." They wanted people from the east to "experience the primitive life and great beauty of this part of Wyoming." Old mining and logging towns can be seen on horseback rides within just a few miles of the Lodge. Hundred's of lakes, ponds, and streams fill the valleys. There are breath taking views that pictures just can't capture on film and represent the majestic scenery and history of the area. We have worked hard to establish a place where family and friends can vacation while enjoying each other in a lodge setting. We have a lot to offer our guests with the help of our family and staff.
