Indigenous area of the Nez Perce Native American tribe. En route to the ranch is Slide lake, one of the eight geological wonders of the world. Red Rock Ranch is entirely surrounded by the Bridger-Teton National Forest, a critical game habitat. Abundant wildlife such as Elk, Moose, Bighorn Sheep and Pronghorn Antelope are often seen.
HISTORY/HOSTS
---
In the late 1800's four separate homesteads existed where the Red Rock Ranch stands today. Throughout the 1900's the ranch saw three different owners until 1974 when David and Deborah MacKenzie purchased it. By 1976 the Red Rock had become a guest ranch catering to families from all over the map. Today it is ever changing with new programs and facilities, but remains true to its' roots and is steeped in old western flavor.
