The Running-R ranch has one of the most beautiful setups in the hills. With over 5,700 acres to ride on we offer the best horseback riding program in the area! A variety of rides from 1 to 5 hours into the adjoining State Park are offered every day: easy rides for beginners as well as more challenging rides for experienced riders. After the trail rides or some riding lesson in the arena just enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the ranch, relax at the swimming pool and discuss your "cowboy-experience" with the wranglers and other guests. Activities include campfires, barbeques, cowboy breakfasts and hiking or biking. Or stroll around in Bandera, a unique little western town with quaint shops, great rodeos and authentic Texan honkytonks and dancehalls.
FOR CHILDREN
---
Kids always have a great time on the ranch! There are lots of things to do for the little cowboys and cowgirls: get a well manored horse and go for a ride, learn more about horses helping in the barn, play with the dogs and cats, go fossil hunting, horseshoe pitching, play ping-pong or just have fun in the swimming pool.
FOOD/LIQUOR
---
The Running-R Ranch is known for a great kitchen. All the homestyle cooked meals are made "from scratch". Enjoy our breakfast rides and famous Texan Barbecues. Non alcoholic beverages are served with the meals. Beer, wine and liquor can be brought to the ranch (BYOB).

HISTORY/HOSTS
---
In 1992 the Running-R Guest Ranch was converted from an early 1900s working ranch into a full service guest ranch focussing on horseback riding. The Running-R is a ranch where guests still have their privacy to just lean back and feel the "good old times" and which is not commercialized or "touristy".
