LODGING
Our 9 cabins are located along Salmon Creek on the edge of the Lolo and Helena National Forests and famed Bob Marshall Wilderness complex. The private rustic creek-side cabins have electric heat and showers and/or baths. The views are breathtaking, the setting is relaxed, the wildlife is abundant, the food is delicious, and the mountain air is fresh and pure.

The old Helmville Hotel, built in the late 1800’s, was recently relocated to the White Tail Ranch. Renovation is now complete, resulting in a comfortable retreat for your family and friends. This private retreat includes two large bedrooms and a bath upstairs, kitchen, living room with fireplace, another bedroom and bath downstairs. The Helmville Hotel can accommodate 10 to 12 people and is available with or without ranch meals. We also can accommodate guests with their horses, so let us know if you want to bring them along.

RECREATION
Spring/Summer: The White Tail Ranch is still small which means we can take time with our guests to make sure they receive the true Montana experience. The daily schedule can be planned around the activities you enjoy the most. The outdoor opportunities are endless, horseback ride, hike or mountain bike through beautiful mountains and meadows or up to natural lakes and waterfalls. Fly-fish on the famous Blackfoot River, Northfork or private spring creeks. Canoe on Coopers Lake and enjoy the pristine environment all around you or relax in a hot tub by the creek. Floating and fishing trips can be added to your adventure. We are equal distance between Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks.

Fall: We keep a few of our cabins and our Helmville Hotel open for Hunters. Call for details. Plenty of photographic opportunities.

Winter: This is truly a snowmobiler’s paradise. Some of Montana’s best snow is located right outside your door with hundreds of miles of groomed trails. We are located right at the foot of Huckleberry Pass, between the towns of Lincoln and Seeley Lake. Snow shoers and cross-country skiers are also welcome. The White Tail Ranch is a checkpoint for the Race to the Sky Dog Sled race.

Take it slow or plan an adventure.

FOR CHILDREN
This year the children’s activities at the ranch (for children aged 4 and up) include nature hikes, arts and crafts, frog catching, inner tube riding, story telling, and corral horseback riding.

FOOD/LIQUOR
All meals are served family style or buffet in the main lodge. Enjoy freshly prepared breads & desserts and hearty home-style meals. BYOB

BUSINESS/MEETINGS
Great for photo shoots or a film location. Professional groups, associations and family reunions too!

REGION/CUSTOMS

HISTORY/HOSTS
For almost 70 years the White Tail Guest Ranch has been attracting guests to experience Montana’s amazing scenery and wildlife. In 2006, your hosts, Bob and Carol Blanchard, are looking forward to greeting our return guests, and making friends with our new guests. We are waiting for you in one of Montana’s last best places. You’ll want to come back again and again.
