Thank you for your interest in a position at the Wit's End Guest Ranch and Resort. Our ranch is committed to the highest level guest service available by anticipating our guest's needs in advance and then exceeding our guest's expections upon delivery of service.
Ranch work is extremely fun and challenging. We desire team members who have exceptional communication skills, a desire to help in any department at any time and a mature, proactive work ethic. Our ranch hands work 6 days a week and 9 hours a day while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude. During your day off you are permitted to use the ranch grounds and facilities based upon availability. You will also be asked to attended our Monday and Thursday night barbeques with our guests. You must be 18 years old upon your first day of work at the ranch. American Citizens will have to produce a valid driver's licence and an original social security card or a current passport. International employees must present proof of immigration and work status in the United States. All employees will fill out W-4 and I-9 forms upon arrival to the ranch.
Our peak season runs from May 22nd through August 27th. Positions are available before and after these dates as well.
The ranch promotes a drug and alcohol free environment. Use of illegal drugs will not be tolerated and will be cause for immediate dismissal. Random drug tests will be conducted throughout the season. Only those employees 21 years of age or older are allowed to drink alcohol on their off time and off the main ranch premises. Under age consumption of alcohol will be grounds for immediate dismissal. Smoking is not permitted on the main ranch premisis at any time. Smoking outside at your lodging is permitted only if fireproof refuse containers are used. This benefit may be withdrawn at any time if we believe smoking is endangering the ranch property.
All staff members will be required to present a neat and clean appearance at all times. You will be provided with the ranch's uniformed shirts and nametags. You should bring jeans, black pants, cowboy hats and boots with you when you arrive to the ranch. Visible tattoos, body piercings, unkempt hair or facial hair will not be tolerated.
You will be paid a monthly salary based upon your experience. Gratuities are not included in our guest package, but you will be allowed to accept tips from our guests based on the level of service you deliver. Based on our ranch status, overtime will be paid only after working 54 hours in one week. You will be housed in cabins, duplexes or bunkhouses together with other employees. It is expected that all ranch property, including employee housing, will be kept clean and tidy. Random housing inspections will be conducted, and an extreme lack of cleanliness may be cause for dismissal. A $100.00 non refundable housing deposit will be required. Pets are not allowed on the ranch.
