History & hosts
The ranch was homesteaded by original pioneers in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
The ranch had been run as a guest ranch since 1919 under the 'F Slash Ranch' name until 1946, when its name was changed to the C Lazy U.
Over its 100 year history as a guest ranch, C Lazy U has only had four differnt ownership groups, which has allowed it to maintain its legacy and western traditions.

About the managers
Born in Litchfield NH, Jeremy graduated from college in North Carolina after studying hospitality, restaurant and resort management. He began his career 20 years ago by working in multiple leadership roles covering all areas of hospitality, for notable luxury hotels, such as Marriott Hotels and Resorts, the Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront and the Kessler Collection, Magee Homestead (part of the Brush Creek Luxury Ranch Collection) and The Ranch at Rock Creek in Montana. “My family and I are excited to be in Colorado, joining more than 100 years of guest ranch history at C Lazy U."

The setting
Logging mitigation throughout the ranch to protect and restore and the forests. A large percentage of the wood is re-used on the ranch for renovations and other uses.
A program to reduce nutrient loading was put in place on Willow Creek.

Food
C Lazy U's Executive Chef and Dining Room Manager work each day to create delicious meals alongside perfect wine pairings. Dinners are served family-style, creating an inviting, warm atmosphere in the lodge dining room, which was originally built in the early 40s. With breathtaking views of the Divide, this is the perfect place to dine - especially for made-to-order breakfasts that leave you wanting for nothing. Lunches are always a wonderful treat, served outside during the summer at the ranch's Patio House.

What to consider
- While the children's program does not allow for parents and kids to ride together most of the week, it does allow for children to learn their horsemanship skills without the pressure they might feel if parents were present. Friday morning is a family ride and there are vast additional opportunities for family time. Fly-fishing lessons, guided hiking, mountain biking, archery, tennis lessons and more, making time spent together completely up to you
